Question 1

What historical figures can I chat with?

Accepted Answer

Anyone with a Wikipedia article who died before 1991: scientists, philosophers, artists, rulers and more, with answers grounded in Wikipedia and Wikidata and portraits from Wikimedia Commons. Every plan talks to all of them, Free included; plans differ by credits a day and by modes. Our featured figures are a good place to start.

Question 2

What else does a membership include?

Accepted Answer

Plus and Pro cover more than the chat. The History Map is free for every year before 1850, from 3000 BCE to 1815; Plus opens the modern era to today, the Wars and UNESCO layers and timeline playback, and Pro is the same as Plus there. In the games you get unlimited practice, the full archive and free play instead of only the daily challenge. Every book collection keeps a free shelf of 5 titles and all 144 Chronicles, and Plus adds the whole HistorIQly Mysteries and Jr. library as EPUB downloads. The mobile apps History Map and HistorIQly Geo are separate one-time purchases and are not part of a membership.

Question 3

How does the AI create authentic historical conversations?

Accepted Answer

Each answer is grounded in the person's Wikipedia article and their Wikidata record: their life, their work, and the dates and places that framed them. Every figure is told not to invent quotations or claim more than the record supports. While we aim for authenticity, these are AI reimaginings meant for education and exploration, not the people themselves or primary historical sources.

Question 4

What is Podcast mode?

Accepted Answer

Podcast mode turns any two historical figures and a topic of your choice into a complete audio episode — a natural back-and-forth conversation with a distinct voice for each figure and a transcript that highlights in sync as it plays. Pick Cleopatra and Caesar on power, or Newton and Einstein on gravity, and listen like a real podcast. Podcast mode is a Pro feature.

Question 5

What languages does HistorIQly support?

Accepted Answer

HistorIQly Chat is available in 16 languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Indonesian, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Polish, Russian, and Dutch. The interface is translated, and historical figures can chat with you in each of these languages.
